Hardware Components and Features Overview
-
Students can experience varying levels of support thanks to the shoulder joint's two degrees of flexibility and the mechanical spring's easily adjustable pretension, which supports shoulder raising against gravity.
-
Elbow joint with 1 DoF of power. The torque produced by the motor is about 5 Nm.
-
Human-exoskeleton interaction forces are measured by a force sensor in the forearm cuff.
-
Angle Sensor in Elbow joint.
-
You can read sensors, control the motor, and program the main exoskeleton control system with an Arduino Nano 33 IoT.
-
The upper arm's IMU Sensor (on the Arduino Board) enables both static position estimation and movement detection.
-
muscle activity using an electromyography sensor and applying the results to sophisticated control principles. With 50 electrodes included in the package, the sensor can be extensively tested before new supplies are needed.
-
Easy to assemble: With prior assembly and soldering experience, the first EduExo Pro takes around 3-4 hours. If you build more than one, the subsequent units can be assembled in around 1-2 hours.
-
Robust and reliable design, optimized for classroom use: thanks to a custom-made PCB, little risk of cable clutter and assembly errors and enhancing overall robustness.
-
Easy battery access: Battery replacement is quick and straightforward, facilitating uninterrupted use.
-
Optional external power supply: Available for easier programming, preparation, debugging, and testing.
-
Push buttons can be pre-programmed with various behaviors, allowing for quick and easy demonstrations or testing of different programs.
-
Versatile assembly options: The kit can be assembled as either a left- or right-arm exoskeleton. If you have two kits, you can easily combine them to create a full upper-body exoskeleton.
